IOSH Managing Safely


The IOSH Managing safely course is designed for managers to have an understanding of their responsibilities when it comes to health and safety at the workplace.

This flexible course is ideal for getting managers up-to-speed on the skills they need to tackle safety and health issues in the workplace.

This three day course covers the following topics:
• Introducing Managing Safely
• Assessing risks
• Controlling risks
• Understanding responbilities
• Understanding hazards
• Investigating incidents
• Measuring performance

Assessment details

Every delegate who has attended all seven modules should take the end-of-course assessments.
These assessments test the course learning objectives and consist of:
• an invigilated, closed-book, 30 questions multi-format question paper to be completed on the last day of the course.
- (passing criteria is 36 out of 60 marks)
• a risk assessment project - usually completed in the workplace and returned to the training provider by the last day of the course.
- (passing criteria is 23 out of 38 marks)

Both of these assessments must be the delegate's own work.
The overall passing criteria for "both assessments combined" is 60 out of 98 marks.

Successful delegates are awarded an IOSH Managing Safely Certificate.

Entry Requirement

We recommend that participants taking this course should reach a minimum standard of English equivalent to an International English Language Testing System (IELTS) score of 6.0 or higher.
